Tournament Rules and General Information.

Rules and information

The tournament is approved by the Lawn Tennis Association (the LTA) and will be conducted in accordance with the Rules or Tennis; the Rules & Regulations of the Lawn Tennis Association; LTA Tournament Regulations and the LTA Code of Conduct.

Tournament rules

  1. Age qualification for all junior and veteran events are as follows:

    16 & under: players must be born on or after 1st January 1991
    35 & over: players must be born on or before 31st December 1972
    45 & over: players must be born on or before 31st December 1962
    55 & over: players must be born on or before 31st December 1952
     

  2. Applicants in all singles events must be LTA registered players with current ratings. This does not apply to doubles events .
     

  3. All matches must be played within a 25 radius miles of Charing Cross at a time to be mutually agreed. They must be completed by the date set by Event Secretary.
     

  4. Extensions to the date for completion will only be granted in exceptional circumstances.
     

  5. Each match shall be the best of three tiebreak sets.
     

  6. Partners in a doubles team may not be changed after the published closing deadline.
     

  7. A player/team failing to arrive within 30 minutes of the agreed time of play will forfeit one set. If they fail to arrive within 60 minutes, they will forfeit the match.
     

  8. No complaint can be entertained by the tournament committee unless made in writing and received by the chairman of the tournament committee within 48 hours of the occurrence.
     

  9. No application for leave of appeal against any decision of the tournament committee can be considered by the LTA unless received in writing by the secretary of the Lawn Tennis Association within 10 days.
     

  10. Clothing and footwear rules of any venue used must be adhered to.
     

  11. The Committee reserves the right to decline an application.
     

  12. All events will use staggered draw formats where entry numbers permit this.
     

  13. Entry fees will not be refunded to a competitor withdrawing from any event, after the published closing deadline.
     

  14. The tournament committee’s decision will be final in all matters relating to the tournament.
     

  15. By submitting an application to this tournament, you agree to the publication of your name, LTA membership number, rating, ranking, county, acceptance status,  match details and results on our website and to our privacy policy (available from www.londonparkstennis.com, or upon request).
     

  16. We reserve the right to make a reasonable administrative charge where an entry fee payment is dishonoured or declined. Recovery costs will also be added to any unpaid amounts due.
     

General information

  1. Once the draw has been made, the event secretary will notify both players (or the nominated player of each doubles pair) by post, phone or email, of the names and contact details of their opponents.
     

  2. Notification will also include the date by which the match must be played.
     

  3. The player (or doubles team) drawn to play at home will be responsible to arranging a venue and a time that is convenient to both players (or teams) and for supplying a minimum of three new match balls. They must contact their opponent(s) within three days.
     

  4. The winner must notify the event secretary of the result immediately following the conclusion of the match.
     

  5. The Trustees of The London Parks and Clubs Lawn Tennis Association will require a security from the holder of any challenge trophy.
     

  6. All winners receive a challenge trophy to be held for one year. It must be returned by the holder to the chairman of the committee upon request.
